Steep & Deep - Part 1

I must first apologize for the lack of pictures in the following post. My camera was on the fritz today and when I got back home I promptly fixed it with a couple good whacks, I just need it to get me through the season.

Hiked again today. Hit the Windows for three runs and on the last hike I made it to the top right at 1:30, this is when the gate closes. I had every intention of hiking up to Bergman Bowl but the Patroller started to pull the rope across and there was already a no hiking sign in place. He offered me a ride though, quite please but also perplexed. There was already a woman sitting on the back of his snowmobile. He began attaching a rope to the rear, I immediately understood as a huge grin came across my face.

The snow wasn't great, but it wasn't horrible either. Windblown and crusty in spots, but the other half of the time I was getting some pretty decent powder.

The snow has started again and a few of us have the intention of waking up early for some freshies. I will definitely be up at the crack but I somewhat doubt that the other two will.

I know, it was a short one with no pictures but I promise pictures of tomorrow and a little lengthier narrative, and a recap of the fun that was had with the Iowa City guys.
