First day of snow and work today. I woke up today, peered out the window and couldn't see the mountains I usually see the sun come over. The clouds were hanging low and the snow was coming down in sheets. Took the gondola to the top and the snow was coming down even harder. Work for the next two weeks will involve a plethora of different projects, my favorite would be learning how to drive the Snow-Cat (read: Andy will be grooming the snow on the Tubing Hill).
Away from work and on to the fun times I had over the weekend. The mercury was flirting with the 60 mark and the sun was always out making it even warmer. Logged a 2 hour ride on Saturday and 3 hours on Sunday, the vast majority being in the dirt. Saturday was up he mountain I've been hiking lately, wow climbing for an hour in Colorado is hard.
Sunday was the exploration of trails I once rode while in Frisco a few years ago. They are still there but with more snow than I remember. After some singletrack I took Old Miner's Road, a 3 mile 4-wheel drive road that goes straight up. Wanted to go all the way up but the road got too icy, too bad since there is an awesome view of the Ten Mile Range from the top. Here is what I saw on my ride...

Sometimes the singletrack turned into snow, at least I got plenty of practice climbing and descending on ice.

Some of my dad is showing through in this picture. Found a large stream cutting through the trail and decided to spend some time here. I'll just post one of the many pictures I took of the area.

Okay, I lied. Just one more artsy image.

Descending out of the snow I rode into this clearing and realized "What a great view."

This is Old Miner's Road outside Frisco. This is just the beginning of a long uphill slog, I only have my singlespeed. I didn't get to sit down at all. You'll notice the small water bars in the road, these were jumps on the way down. Can't even describe the feeling you get while flying down a jeep road and then you are airborn still flying down the hill.
Don't think I'll be riding the bike much anymore, temps are dropping and the snow seems to be coming. Exchanging the wheels for skis now.
Most important accomplishment at work today: made forms for snow blocks. We are building igloos soon.

Saw only two words to correct today...single, dropping. Glad you are settling in and enjoying all that the scenery has to offer even if it means having a little of your dad around. it is nice talking to you each night. I think we have heard from you more now than when you lived with us. Love you, Andy
