Settling In

Well the first week is nearly complete and I haven't even worked yet. Well I did "start" on Thursday but that consisted of a quick tour of Advenure Point and then cleaning the two big circus tents I will call work for the next 6 months. After my hour and a half of work, I put in some runs on the mountain. First time on skis this year and it all came back pretty quick.

Been hiking and riding a lot, not to mention all the little tasks that come with establishing a new residents, no matter how temporary. Life in Colorado is treating me well so far, but I can quickly see I do not share the same mentality as the majority of the ski bums, but that will be elaborated on later. Now for a picture dump from my 4 hour hike on Thursday:
Found a babbling brook on the way up, I think the water temperature was just this side of freezing.

So it wasn't just a hike, Jason and I played disc golf along the way. We made up holes along the way, I'm not very good.

A view of Keystone Resort from the top, they have a lot more snow than I previously thought. If you can make out the lift on the top of the middle peak, that is where I work.

To the east of the resort, we are surronding by these mountains. So very cool.

This is the trail on the way down, I plan to ride this right after I finish this post.

Now to enjoy the weekend. Work starts on Monday, I'm riding the first chair up to The Point at 9 am. Oh yes, my commute is a 15 minute gondola ride to 11,000 feet. Don't know what I'll be doing seeing as the Tubing hill isn't opening up for at least two more weeks, possibly three if it doesn't start to get cold and snowy.

What a beautiful home away from home. Can't wait to visit. I only saw one mispelled word...surrounding not surronding. Keep showing off. I love it. The mom
