Troy shoots the gun and I'm off running. Propping my bike up with a stick, great idea. First one up the big hill and into the singletrack. Jumped over a log, ended up off trail, got passed by two, guy in the lead knocks over a tree, I jump over tree, and Shockey and I off and having fun.
During the next 22 hours I cycle between riding, eating, and sleeping. I hopped over a stack of beer cans and cleared it. I asked for a higher stack, I cleared that too.
10:30 am rolls around and we are 2 laps up, I try to make some deals. 2nd place will stop if 3rd place stops, which will stop if 4th stops. But 4th wont because even though they are a lap down they want to stick it out. Props to them for that, but it meant everyone went out for another. I get to the top, before entering the infield, around 11:15 and Kent is waiting for me with beer in tow. I stop and enjoy life with Kent and Mable rolls by, he stops as well. Then I see the Green Team who are in 2nd place coming up, I chug and take off. He sees me and digs deep, we keep see each other on all the 180s in the infield, with big grins. Don't know if it was because we knew what was going on or because we were almost done. I stayed out in front and won by two laps, 29 total for the team.

So that was that, another 24 in the bag. Thanks to my teammates for rocking hardcore, especially Kent for his first effort and on a singlespeed. And a big thanks to Ron, Troy, the Kyles, and Kyle's wife for another great year.

A ha! I knew you weren't human. I've tried to "hope" over things too, but gravity smithes me every time. I need a better cape.
DG
congrats on taking that last one for the team :)
I hoped and now I hopped. Thanks Dennis, for editing and cookies.
Shockey - I might be up your way in October.
